Fresh Water Foods Inc. was founded in Richmond Hill, Ontario, to do one thing well: import frozen seafood from India that Canadian buyers can rely on, lot after lot.
We started with shrimp — farm-raised Vannamei and Black Tiger — and built our business on specifying exactly what we wanted from processing plants rather than buying whatever was on offer. That discipline is why our customers can put our sizes and net weights straight onto a shelf tag.
Today the catalogue spans crustaceans, cephalopods and more than twenty fish species, sold to wholesalers, grocery chains, restaurants and private-label brands across Ontario. RiverFresh, our own retail brand, carries the same standards into the freezer aisle.
To import and distribute frozen seafood that is safe, consistent and honestly specified — so every customer can sell it with confidence.
To be Ontario's most trusted bridge between India's seafood processors and Canadian retail, foodservice and private-label brands.
Quality without shortcuts. Transparency on specs and origin. Long-term partnerships over one-off deals. Respect for the people and waters that feed us.

Fresh Water Foods Inc. is established to import frozen seafood from India for the Ontario wholesale market.
Vannamei and Black Tiger shrimp in HOSO, headless, easy-peel and PD forms — IQF and block — become our core business.
Pomfret, snapper, seer fish, mackerel, ribbon fish, squid and cuttlefish join the catalogue in retail and bulk packs.
RiverFresh launches with bilingual, nutrition-labelled shrimp packs for Canadian grocery shelves.
Atlantic and Pacific species — salmon, cod, haddock, halibut, mackerel — are being added to serve a wider customer base.
We source from plants that meet HACCP requirements and are approved to export to Canada, and we visit and re-qualify partners as programs grow.
Size counts, glaze percentage, net weights, packing and labelling are written into every purchase order and checked before loading.
Import declarations, licences, certificates of origin and health certificates are prepared by our team, so containers move on schedule.
Product is frozen to -18 °C at the plant, shipped in reefer containers and received into GTA cold storage with temperature records.
